Need an Avid Editor? Want an Avid Assistant? Looking for work?

Come out to this our first meeting for the 2003/2004 season and bring along information to drop off on our Networking table. This will be a feature of all meetings this year as we hope to help connect potential employers with qualified Avid editors and assistants. If you're looking to hire people and would like to introduce yourself to our members please e-mail al@atug.ca and we'll try to get you on the agenda.

Avid Xpress PRO with MOJO

After a long wait Xpress PRO with MOJO has arrived and is getting rave reviews. We'll get a look at how this new editing system can fit into your post-production workflow.

Handling 24P and Film Projects

Jeff Krebs of Serial Digital Post will demystify 24P projects and review how to correctly digitize footage in an Xpress/Media Composer environment. If pull-down and match back are foreign terms then take notes as Jeff takes us on a digitizing 101 course for HD and Film projects.

The role of Assistant Editors and Editing workflow

Ever wonder if you should use Assistant Editors or what your role as an assistant really is? Want to learn how other editors handle their workflow? Thinking of tackling a Documentary, MOW, Feature, Commercial or Infomercial but have no idea how to get hired or worse, how to handle the project? These are some of the questions our panel of seasoned professionals will answer during the first of several interactive peer-to-peer panels planned for this season.

All members and guests are invited. Refreshments will be served.

Special thanks to Dynamix Professional Video Systems and Avid for sponsoring
the meeting. And to Toronto Star Television for hosting our event.
